Declaration of the Jews of the Zamość Entailed Estate against the Chełm and Bełz Jewish elders
Lejba Aronowicz, the general plenipotentiary of the Jews of the Zamość Entailed Estate and elder of the Włodzimierz poviat Jews, declares in their name against the land elders of Chełm and the Bełz Voivodeship, and especially their marshal, Abraham, and Fiszel, the general scribe, regarding their failure to implement the decree of the Jewish arbitration court of 21 May 1721 and the settlement of 23 July 1721 approved by the Crown treasurer and the lack of response by the two abovementioned elders to the same treasurer’s letter in the matter of putting an unfair burden of wyderkauf and taxes on the communities of the Zamość Entailed Estate.
